BREAKING NEWS - Bush Says Something Stupid

In an unintended moment of truth-telling, George W. Bush said the following in a speech he delivered at the signing ceremony for a $417 billion defense spending bill:

Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.

Uhh, ok.

Scott McClellan's defense:

This just shows even the most straightforward and plain-spoken people misspeak.

Uhh, ok.

This bill also represents yet another one of George Bush's many flip-flops. As the AP reports:

Bush had originally insisted that no extra funds would be needed for Iraq and Afghanistan until after the elections but under pressure from Congress, he requested $25 billion.

I guess that's just another example of this straight-talking president merely misspeaking. My bad.
