Republican Response to Bush's "Misspeak"

Republican to Todd:

While I can appreciate the temptation to mock W for mis-speaking, you cannot be serious to think that it was anything but a slip of the tongue. You have really lost it if you believe this.


Todd to Republican:

No one is saying that what came out of his mouth is what he meant to say. (Dave said it appeared in the speech as though it was written that way and he just read it.) But that's the point. How sad is it that the words he says are so hollow that he wouldn't even catch that? And how sad is it that we can't count on the President of the United States to say what he means? (We know most politicians often do not mean what they say.)
